Description

The Universidad de Santiago de Chile is one of the nation's largest,
oldest and most traditional state universities. Operating in Chile's
capital, the university welcomes all visitors.
Combining a view to the future with a rich heritage of 157 years
of educational service, the university's highly trained staff prepares
undergraduate and graduate professionals. In addition, the institution
conducts academic researches, provides continuing education and
technical assistance. It maintains permanent contact with private
enterprises and government institutions and carries out scientific,
technological and student exchanges with national and international
universities.
As a complex and complete University, it offers instruction for
58 undergraduate degrees for more 18,000 students, having seven
faculties that comprise the main educational activities (Engineering,
Humanities, Sciences, Business Administration and Economics, Chemistry
and Biology, Medical Sciences and Technology). It is rapidly entering
a new phase of quaternary formation, that is to say, the implementation
of new and better Post-Graduate Programs (doctorates and masters
degrees), in addition to the various specialization courses and
Post-Graduate programs provided by the different academic and research
units.
